The Eastern regional GSTEP 2025 Semi-Finalist Induction was held on the 10th February, 2025, at the GNAT Hall in Koforidua. The event brought together 26 teams of semi-finalists from various schools across the Eastern Region, along with teachers, coaches, and mentors. Key attendees included representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES) and consortia partner organizations such as the Dreamoval Foundation, Partnership Bureau, Practical Education Network, and Shulem Lake.

Mrs. Ivy Asantewaa Owusu, the Regional Director of Education for the Eastern Region of Ghana, praised the GSTEP Consortium for its work in developing STEM skills and encouraging creativity in young people. At the induction ceremony, she said, “The GSTEP Challenge is a great program that helps students learn the skills they need to solve real problems. I want to recognize the semi-finalist teams for their creativity and hard work. To the teams from the Eastern Region, your efforts show the future of STEM in Ghana and the potential for positive change in our communities. I believe you will make us proud and help the Eastern Region win the top prize this year.”

The event included various activities to help the teams learn important skills for building their projects. The teams were split into groups, each focusing on different skills. In the Pitch Perfect group, students learned about public speaking and communication to help them present their ideas confidently. The Synergy Safari Group taught the importance of teamwork and how to work well with others. The STEMplosion group offered hands-on training on using STEM materials to create prototypes.

Representatives from Shulem Lake introduced the teams to the One4all Kit, a comprehensive toolkit designed to support STEM education and prototype development. The session covered the kit’s components, procedures for requesting additional materials, and a step-by-step guide on how to effectively utilize the resources provided.
