The Greater Accra Semi-Finalist Induction took place on January 8th and 9th, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, Tema Community 2. The event brought together 37 team from various schools across the Greater Accra Region, along with teachers, coaches, and mentors. Key attendees included representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the GSTEP consortia partners. The two-day induction aimed to empower the teams by providing them with essential skills and materials for the GSTEP challenge.

The two day event featured a range of activities designed to equip the teams with essential skills to help them build their prototypes. The teams were divided into carousel groups, each focusing on a specific skill set. In the Pitch Perfect group, representatives guided students through public speaking and effective communication skills, empowering them to confidently pitch their ideas. The Synergy Safari Group emphasized the importance of teamwork, teaching students how to bond with their team members to achieve common goals. Additionally, the STEMplosion group provided hands-on training on utilizing STEM materials to build prototypes.

While the teams were engaged in their carousel groups, their mentors, teachers, and coaches attended separate sessions focused on capacity building. Representatives from Shulem Lake introduced the teams to the One4All kit, a comprehensive toolkit designed to support STEM education and prototype development. The session covered the kit’s components, procedures for requesting additional materials, and a step-by-step guide on how to effectively utilize the resources provided.
