Following the successful GSTEP Exhibition and Awards Ceremony in January, we’re taking the GSTEP Challenge to the next level with our Regional Homecoming events!
Over the past week, we visited the Ashanti region, presenting STEM materials to winning schools to enhance STEM education. The participating teams from Obuasi Municipal, Kumasi Metropolitan, Asokwa Municipal, and Sekyere South District showcased their innovative projects, impressing us with their creativity and ingenuity!
The award categories included the Founder’s Award, People’s Choice, Excellence in Applied Science, Best Pitch, and Excellence in Business Planning. Congratulations to Team Alpha from New Nsuta M/A JHS Obuasi, The Awesome Medics from Uaddara Basic School, Brainy Badgers from Nel Educational Complex, Team Uno from Christ Love Educational Complex, and Farm Solutions from Jamasi Presby JHS!
The GSTEP consortium presented valuable STEM materials, including screw sets, 12V hand drills, soldering kits, multimeters, robotics kits, Arduino UNO kits, Raspberry Pi 4 desktop kits, and sensor kits. These STEM resources will address specific school needs, fostering students’ interest in STEM fields and equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their careers.
We encouraged more entries for the next phase of the challenge and witnessed the respect and recognition given to students who participated in the GSTEP challenge.
GES officials, headmasters, and STEM coordinators expressed their gratitude and commitment to striving for greater success in the next GSTEP Challenge and STEM education.
