The Ghana Science & Tech Explorer Prize (GSTEP) Challenge is proceeding into its next phase with induction events for 50 selected finalists of the Challenge. Over 800 entries were received and assessed by independent assessors, of which 50 finalists were chosen to participate in the challenge prize. 25 finalists were selected from the Greater Accra region and 25 from the Ashanti region. These finalists will be inducted into the Challenge at the GSTEP Finalist Induction event to be held separately in Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.
The Finalist Induction events are being held to bring all finalists together to integrate them into the programme and prepare them for the activities lined up. Finalists will be given an overview of the programme and their expectations from them. They will also participate in a series of workshops aimed at providing them with skills to enable them carry out their activities effectively during the programme. The workshops will focus on STEM-based education, team building and collaboration, entrepreneurial skills, business plan development, prototyping, and project development. The finalists will participate in a drone flying experience led by Ghana Flying Labs. They will also have the opportunity to meet with their mentors, who are experts in various fields and will guide them through the programme.
