Our Mentors

Ira Osei Akoto

 Ira is the Hub Manager at Women’s Haven Africa (a female tech and innovation space with the goal of producing female leaders and entrepreneurial giants across Africa), an in-country researcher for Ghana on the Baobab Evaluation Research with Neil Butcher and Associates, A Mastercard Foundation Alumni Network committee member in charge of partnerships, a certified startup coach/mentor by Ghana Tech Lab and MEST Africa respectively and a certified Gender makes Business Sense – GmBS facilitator and mentor.

 

He obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Community Based Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Education, Winneba, and is currently pursuing an MPHIL in Special Education. He is also enrolled in the Project Management Professional Program (PMP) at the Cambridge Center for Excellence. He has also worked with 12 female-led tech firms in Ghana to help them become investor ready.

previous mentorship experience

Ira has mentored 25 JHS students on STEM education and 42 tertiary graduates in web development to produce projects focused toward solving social problems.

I believe that students in Junior High Schools have the potential to develop solutions to problems around them if provided the needed guidance and support.
