The Ghana Science Tech & Explorer Prize (GSTEP) programme 2025 is now accepting applications for The Youth Steering Group (YSG) initiative from August 26th to September 23rd, 2024.The main goal of the Youth Steering Group is to liaise with the GSTEP challenge to support and inspire over 20,000 Junior High School (JHS) students, as well as teachers, schools, and communities in the Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti regions. 

The ambassadors will dedicate themselves to leveraging their skills to create social impact and increase engagement and inclusion in Ghana’s STEM education sector. The Youth Steering Group representatives will commit to participating in masterclasses, mentorship programmes and supporting with the implementation of the challenge prize programme activities designed to develop their STEM skills and equip them with a variety of soft skills for their personal growth and development. 

Eligible applicants must reside in any one of the three regions namely Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti regions and should be aged from 14 to18 years.

This year, the Youth Steering Group (YSG) initiative under the Ghana Science Tech & Explorer Prize (GSTEP) programme will consist of 24 young people, with 8 representatives selected from each of the Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti regions. 

These young people will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to build competencies through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and positively influence other young people and their communities.
